Madison, N.C. – The 223 Remington is undoubtedly the most popular centerfire rifle cartridge in the world today. Its absolute versatility as a sporting and military/law enforcement round has been the contributing factor in earning its place at the top. For 2008, Remington is proud to elevate the 223 Remington into a completely new level of performance with Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded technology. The new 62 grain Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded PSP bullet will yield optimum expansion with increased weight retention resulting in deeper penetration.
Premier Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded ammunition features a bonded bullet comprised of a lead core that is metallurgically adhered to a progressively tapered 20 percent heavier jacket delivering controlled expansion over a wide range of velocities. Its increased Core-Lokt section provides controlled 2X expansion with deep penetration and 85% weight retention.
Also new for 2008, Remington has added a companion “training load” to its UMC line of ammunition. This 62 grain Closed Tip Flat Base bullet is ballistically identical to the Core-Lokt Ultra, providing the perfect high volume, economical practice round.
