Our shotshells dust clays, trigger pull after trigger pull.

There is a slight difference between these two types of shells. Target loads are designed for clay shooting, while game loads are designed for hunting applications. Target loads like Remington’s Gun Club, Nitro 27, and STS bring lighter payloads, lower recoil, and slower velocities. Game loads traditionally have higher velocities, higher antimony shot, and bigger shot sizes. These factors improve the knockdown power for these shotshells, allowing them to take small or winged game effectively. Remington's popular game loads include Express Extra Long Range, Nitro Magnum, Premier Bismuth, and Game Loads. While they may look similar on the outside, the differences lie within.

The Mourning Dove falls on the smaller side of the winged game. You don’t need much to take’em down, and our popular target loads can double as a dove hunting shell. However, if you want a shell with more velocity to take down those way-out birds better, check out Remington Heavy Dove Loads.

Target loads aren’t ideal for home defense. While they remain lethal at close range, they’re designed for clays — not stopping threats.
