Remington Unveils the New Model 597™ TVP™ – An Exciting New Advancement in Rimfire Rifle Design

Madison, N.C. – The new Remington® Model 597 TVP (Target-Varmint Plinker) is guaranteed to make bystanders take at second look; at your rifle and your downrange performance as well. New for 2008, the Model 597 TVP combines exciting, modern design with legendary 597 accuracy and reliability. Truly the ultimate 22LR target-rifle platform, this tack-driver features a 20-inch stainless heavy barrel and action with a distinctive, Shady Camo laminated thumbhole stock that’s contoured to accommodate right- and left-handed shooters with equal comfort. The newly designed stock is perfectly balanced and contoured for offhand and fixed position shooting. The 597 receiver is equipped with a factory-mounted scope rail for the easy addition of your preferred optics.

The Model 597 is easily the most advanced autoloading rimfire rifle ever built. The difference starts with our proprietary bolt-guidance system, which features a unique set of twin tool-steel guide rails for better stability, feeding reliability and greater out-of-the-box accuracy. The bolt, hammer and sear of the Model 597 all feature an exclusive nickel-Teflon® plating for smooth, dependable operation and an ultra-crisp trigger pull. To assure reliable, long-term accuracy, we’ve also incorporated a unique positive-locking, permanently rigid barrel attachment clamp. Receivers are grooved for standard rimfire mounts and drilled/ tapped for the pre-mounted Weaver-style base. Completing the breakthrough design are an innovative last-shot “hold open” magazine feature and our patented, easy-to-use staggered-stack 10 round magazine box.
