Introduced in 2023 by Remington Ammunition and Henry Rifles, 360 Buckhammer is a brand-new SAAMI accepted cartridge. A straight wall cartridge 360 BHMR is a rimmed round designed for lever-action rifles.
Buckhammer uses .358” diameter bullets, found in other cartridges like 35 Remington or 35 Whelen. Initial bullets offered in 360 Buckhammer include a 180-grain soft point Core-Lokt and a 200-grain soft point Core-Lokt.
With muzzle velocities around 2,200 FPS – 2,400 FPS and mild recoil, 360 Buckhammer performs and shoots similarly to another lever-gun favorite cartridge, 30-30 Winchester.
360 Buckhammer is not compatible with rifles or handguns made for other cartridges, so you’ll need a new rifle to shoot Buckhammer. Henry Rifles is currently making firearms for 360 Buckhammer in models similar to:

360 Buckhammer was developed using 30-30 Winchester as the parent case, however there are significant differences between the popular lever action cartridge 30-30 and the new 360 Buckhammer. 360 Buckhammer was developed as a straight wall cartridge, vs the 30-30’s bottlenecked or tapered shell. 360 Buckhammer also uses larger diameter bullets, .358 vs .308.
360 Buckhammer’s name says it all! This new ammunition is a straight up hammer designed to whack whitetails. If you hunt in a straight wall state and want to hunt deer with a lever gun, 360 Buckhammer is for you.
If you’re a deer, hog, or bear hunter wanting a new brushbuster gun that shoots big bullets with modern cartridge performance and is effective at longer ranges than your old lever gun, 360 Buckhammer will work well for you.
Effective and accurate at 200 yards, 360 Buckhammer is easy to shoot.
