Madison, N.C. – After a super-fast restart with eleven laps to go, Kasey Kahne, driver of the #9 Dodge, rocketed past Kevin Harvick to claim victory at the Pep Boys Auto 500 Sprint Cup race held Sunday, September 6. That win marked Kahne’s second career NASCAR Sprint Cup victory at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Kahne’s win, his second of the season and eleventh of his career, all but guaranteed him a position in the Chase for the Sprint Cup, jumping him five positions to sixth in the series standings, just 541 points behind the leader. In 2005, Kahne entered into a marketing agreement with Remington for promotional use of his name, likeness and car number and for personal appearances at the track and retail events. This promotional agreement raises the profile of Remington at the retail level in addition to providing a venue to reach the brand-loyal NASCAR customer base.
"Remington is proud of our partnership with Kasey and his performance in Atlanta," said Phil Murdock, Remington’s Vice President of Channel and Event Marketing. "The NASCAR program and great, young drivers like Kasey provide an opportunity for Remington to raise awareness of our hunting and shooting heritage and portray our industry in a most positive way."
Kahne continues to remain focused on the Chase for the Sprint Cup and maintaining his 96 point lead over thirteenth place Brian Vickers. He is preparing for the final "Race for the Chase" Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway with a certain level of well-placed confidence. His last eleven starts there have netted him five top-ten finishes including one win.
Remington congratulates Kasey on his win in Atlanta and wishes him success in his quest for the title.
