Young shooters are more likely to become stewards of the shooting sports if they start with a gun that fits properly. Adults requiring a shorter length of pull will also benefit from this lineup. Rifles feature 20" barrels and youth shotguns have 21" barrels (20" for deer gun).

The Model 770™ Youth is the ultimate first centerfire. The next generation of the hunt-ready Model 710, it’s chambered for the mild-recoiling 243 Win. and comes out of the box with a pre-mounted, boresighted 3-9x40mm scope.

Other centerfires include our workhorse, short-action Model 700 SPS™ Youth Synthetic. Now in a left-handed version chambered for 243 Win  and 7mm-08 Rem, it’s the first-ever southpaw youth rifle offering. Our new Managed Recoil 7mm-08 Rem ammunition is the perfect complement to this addition. Our Model 700 SPS™ Buckmasters “Young Bucks” model comes in 243 Win., and features a specially engraved floorplate and Realtree® hardwoods® Grey hD™ stock.

In shotguns, we have the 20-gauge Model 870™ Express® Jr. and Model 870 Express Youth Turkey Gun with Mossy Oak® Break-Up™ stocks and fore-ends. And we still offer the Model 870 Express Youth line, Model 870 Express Jr. and a Model 870 express Synthetic Youth Combo featuring a 21" vent-rib barrel and a 20" fully rifled barrel. All Jr. offerings have a 1" shorter length of pull than standard Youth models. The gas-operated action of the 20-gauge Model 11-87 Sportsman Youth makes it the ultimate light-recoiling youth shotgun.

 Our Model Five™ Youth rimfire completes the lineup with superior accuracy and a simple, rugged design that make it a great first rifle. It has a shortened stock and fore-end, a world-class hammer-forged barrel shortened to 16 1/2" and fully adjustable rifle sights.
