Madison, N.C. – Remington began
manufacturing top-quality pocket knives in the early 1920’s, and
ever since their initial introduction, Remington knives have
been prized for their functional design, unsurpassed workmanship
and first-rate materials. In conjunction with the introduction
of the Remington Cutlery Collector’s Club (RCCC), a
commemorative “Knife of the Year” is being introduced for 2009.
Membership in RCCC is required to purchase this knife and other
special edition offerings. For further information, please visit

Combining elements of American cutlery history and Remington
heritage in a classic folding knife design, the inaugural
Cutlery Collector’s Club “Knife of the Year” is based on the
vintage R103 pattern, the first knife ever produced by
Remington. This knife, as every future RCCC offering, is made in
the USA and will carry the last published tang stamp from 1940
as well as the Remington trademark blade etch.
This first-in-a-series knife features two blades, a 4-inch clip
blade and a 2 1/2–inch pen blade, both constructed of 440
stainless steel, enclosed in a handle reproduced from the
original jig used on many Remington knives between 1920 to 1940.
The knife measures 5-inches when closed and also features nickel
silver bolsters and brass liner.
