Madison, N.C. – Remington has created
two of the world’s toughest pump-action shotguns to survive in
the most extreme hunting conditions associated with waterfowl
hunting - the Model 870 XCS Super Magnum and Model 870
XCS Super Magnum-Waterfowl. These 12 gauge, 3 1/2-inch
workhorses feature our durable TriNyte® Corrosion Control System
and many other premium features, making them the ultimate pump
shotguns for the waterfowl fanatic. (Note: The Model 870 XCS
Super Magnum shotguns are exclusive firearm offerings available
only from select wholesalers through independent Remington
Premier dealers.)
Both guns are based on the venerable Model 870 twin-action bar
design and feature our patented, armor-like TriNyte PVD
(Physical Vapor Disposition) coating on external metal parts for
unrivaled corrosion and abrasion resistance. Strenuous
scientific testing has proven the TriNyte Corrosion Control
System to be the toughest, most durable firearms finish on the
market today. So don’t worry about salt spray, mud or cornfield
stubble – they’re no match for these extreme conditions guns.
Unlike most other shotguns, all internal components on these
shotguns are nickel plated to add another level of rust
resistance, including the bore and magazine tube. Both the XCS
Super Magnum and XCS Super Magnum-Waterfowl handle the full
range of 12-gauge shotshell sizes from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2-inches and
are proofed for steel shot and the newest non-toxic loads like
our heavier-than-lead, high density Wingmaster HD™ loads.
These XCS shotguns feature the convenient SpeedFeed® I stocks
with spring-loaded compartments on each side, making extra
shells handy for quicker reloads. This well-designed stock can
hold up to four 2 3/4-inch shells or two 3 or 3 1/2-inch shells
and the addition of a patented Remington recoil pad helps tame
the recoil of stout 3 1/2-inch waterfowl loads. Both versions
come equipped with hammer-forged, carbon steel 28-inch vent rib
Rem® Choke barrels and the inclusion of three chokes - Improved
Cylinder, Modified and Full, allow waterfowl hunters to match
their patterns to the hunting conditions. Twin beads allow quick
and accurate sighting.
The Model 870 XCS Super Magnum has an “Overcast Gray”
TriNyte finish on the receiver and barrel and comes equipped
with durable, non-reflective matte black synthetic stock and
fore-end. The Model 870 XCS Super Magnum-Waterfowl
features an “Olive Drab” finish on external parts and the stock
and fore-end are clad in Mossy Oak® Duck Blind® camo, providing
ultimate concealment. This extremely effective camo layers wet
and dry-ground tones with native grasses, crops and marsh plants
for maximum concealment in any hunting environment. A
light-gathering, fiber optic TRUGLO® front sight completes this
hardcore waterfowl version. Sling swivel studs are also standard
on both models and a padded, black sling is included.
Whether you are hunting the Atlantic flyway, hunkered down in a
goose blind in the snowy Midwest or standing in the flooded
timbers of Stuttgart, Arkansas, the Model 870 Xtreme Conditions
Super Mag shotguns can live up to the task.
