Madison, N.C. – The Model 700 XCR (Xtreme
Conditions Rifle) bolt-action rifle, introduced in 2005, soon
became known for its superior performance and durability, even
in the harshest weather and most extreme hunting conditions.
Based on the legendary Model 700 action, the XCR platform
incorporates performance-enhancing features and the latest in
technologically-advanced, manufacturing processes. The result is
a rifle truly built for superior performance. For 2008,
Remington is pleased to announce a left-handed version of our
most durable rifle – the Model 700 XCR LH (Left Hand) in
two versatile long-action chamberings and two hard-hitting, long
range magnum offerings – 270 Win, 30-06 Sprg,
7mm Remington Mag and 300 Remington Ultra Mag.
The Model 700 XCR is truly built for extreme conditions with our
patented TriNyte® Corrosion Control System. This proprietary
process starts with a 416 stainless steel barreled action that
is plated with electroless nickel, followed by a PVD (Physical
Vapor Deposition) coating. Though micro-thin, this protective
barrier provides superior abrasion resistance and virtual
elimination of corrosion. Next the barreled action is fit into
an element-defying, black synthetic stock with solid-grip, gray
overmolded panels on the fore-end and pistol-grip. Other
standard XCR features include clean 24-inch, hammer-forged
barrel (26-inch barrel length on magnums); receiver drilled and
tapped for scope mounts; hinged floorplate with four-round
magazine capacity in the 270 Win and 30-06 Sprg offerings and
three-round magazine capacity in the magnums; and sling swivel
studs. And on this version, the two-position safety is located
on the left side of the receiver.
Accuracy is second nature to this durable centerfire rifle as
the XCR rifle features the time-proven Model 700 bolt-action
platform at its core. With its unique cylindrical receiver
design delivering consistent shot placement; legendary
“three-rings-of-steel” lock-up providing unparalleled strength;
and solid construction from a single steel bar stock – the Model
700 XCR delivers peak performance, shot after shot. Accuracy is
further enhanced with the addition of our ultra-crisp X-Mark
Pro™ trigger and new patented SuperCell™ Recoil Pad. The
trigger with its mirror-like surfaces and adjustable pull weight
(by qualified gunsmith) delivers a clean, crisp break with
virtually no creep. Recoil force is absorbed over a longer
period of time by the millions of advanced polymer SuperCells;
less felt recoil equals greater accuracy. All of these features
are standard equipment on the Model 700 XCR LH rifle.
Being left-handed is no longer a “handicap” when you are looking
for a superior-performing, weather-defying bolt-action rifle.
Look no further – the Model 700 XCR LH has arrived!
