Madison, N.C. – At Remington, we think all hunters and shooters equally deserve a durable, high performance rifle so we are pleased to announce the addition of two left-handed platforms to the Model 700 Synthetic Special Purpose (SPS) family of centerfire rifles - the Model 700 SPS Varmint Left Hand in 17 Remington Fireball, 22-250 Remington, 223 Remington, 243 Win and 308 Win. In an industry first and the perfect rifle to introduce the smaller-stature, left-handed shooter – the Model 700 SPS Youth Left Hand in 243 Win and 7mm-08 Remington. These special purpose bolt-action rifles deliver the legendary Model 700 accuracy and reliability in a package designed for our Southpaw friends of all ages.

Model 700 SPS Varmint Left Hand – At the core of this rifle is the rigid design of the Model 700 receiver, machined from a solid steel bar. This combined with the famous “three-rings-of-steel” design which completely supports the cartridge make the Model 700 one of the strongest and most accurate actions available. Performance-enhancing features of the SPS Varmint rifle include a 26-inch heavy varmint-contour barrel; ergonomically-designed, matte black synthetic stock with vented beavertail fore-end for heat dissipation, weight reduction and stability; recoil-dampening, patented Remington® recoil pad to lessen shooter fatigue; and non-reflective matte blue finish on exposed metalwork. These rifles also feature the Remington X-Mark Pro™ trigger, set at the factory with 40% lower pull weight and virtually no creep, further enhancing the performance of these tack-drivers. Other standard Model 700 SPS features include drilled and tapped receiver; hinged floorplate magazine with five-round capacity in 17 Remington Fireball and 223 Remington chamberings or four-round capacity in 22-250 Remington, 243 Win and 308 Win; dual front and single rear sling swivel studs; and on this model, a two-position safety on the left side of the receiver. Model 700 SPS Youth Left Hand – Starting your left-handed youngster with a rifle designed for him or her is the key to a lifetime of shooting enjoyment. This durable, well-balanced bolt-action, available in two versatile low-recoil chamberings, is the perfect choice. These high performance rifles have all of the standard design features of the Model 700 series in a more compact platform – the matte black synthetic stock has a one-inch shorter length of pull (12 3/8-inches) that provides for balanced handling with the shorter 20-inch matte-finished, carbon steel barrel. Recoil is lessened with the addition of a patented Remington recoil pad. Further soften the impact of this rifle, but not its performance by partnering the 7mm-08 Remington SPS Youth offering with our new Managed-Recoil™ 140 gr Core-Lokt® PSP ammunition. You can expect the same accuracy and consistency as with our standard full-size Model 700 offerings, as this version also has our state-of-the-art X-Mark Pro trigger, which is adjustable for pull weight by a qualified gunsmith. Other features of the SPS include two-position safety conveniently located on the left side of the receiver; receiver drilled and tapped for mounting optics; front and rear sling swivel studs; hinged floorplate with four-round capacity; and non-reflective, matte blue finish on exposed metalwork.
