durable, high performance Model 700 Synthetic Special Purpose (SPS)
family of centerfire rifles welcomes its newest member – the
Model 700 SPS Varmint. These specialty bolt-action rifles
deliver the Model 700 legendary accuracy and reliability in a
package designed for precision, long range shooting at a
surprisingly affordable price. New for 2007, the Model 700 SPS
Varmint is available in six popular calibers - .204 Ruger,
.22-250 Remington, .223 Remington, .243 Win, .308 Win. and in
the sizzling new .17 Remington Fireball.
At the core of the Model 700 SPS Varmint rifle is the rigid
design of the Model 700 receiver, machined from a solid steel
bar. This combined with the famous “three-rings-of-steel” design
which completely supports the cartridge make the Model 700 one
of the strongest and most accurate actions available.
Performance-enhancing features of the SPS Varmint rifle include
a 26-inch heavy varmint-contour barrel; newly-designed black
matte synthetic stock with vented beavertail fore-end for heat
dissipation, weight reduction and stability; non-reflective
matte blued finish on exposed metalwork; and convenient dual
front sling swivel studs. This rifle also features the new
Remington X-MARK PRO™ trigger, set at the factory between 3.5 to
5.5 pounds with no creep, further enhancing the performance of
these tack-drivers. Other standard Model 700 SPS features
include drilled and tapped receiver; hinged floorplate magazine
with 5-round capacity in .17 Remington Fireball, .204 Ruger and
.223 Rem chamberings or 4-round capacity in .22-250 Rem, .243
Win and .308 Win; and convenient sling swivel studs.
The Model 700 SPS family of centerfire rifles delivers
