Madison, NC – For 2007, Remington is pleased to announce the seventh offering in the limited edition Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) rifle series, the Model 700 XCR™ (Xtreme Conditions Rifle) RMEF Camo chambered in the flat-shooting, hard-hitting .300 Remington Ultra Mag. This annual offering features the Elk Foundation logo engraved on the hinged floorplate and the stock wears the official RMEF camo pattern – Realtree® All-Purpose™ HD. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this rifle will be donated to RMEF in support of their conservation efforts.

The physical demands of elk hunting can push a hunter to his limits as well as taking a toll on his rifle. The Model 700 XCR bolt-action rifle is built to handle the most-daunting terrain and weather conditions with our exclusive, patent-pending TriNyte® Corrosion Control System. This multi-layer process consists of electroless nickel and proprietary PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coatings on the solid stainless steel barreled action.  Benefits of this micro-thin coating include superior scratch resistance and virtual elimination of corrosion. Fitting this weather-impervious barreled action into a top-of-the-line synthetic stock adds to the toughness of this Model 700. The durable stock has easy-gripping, gray overmolded panels in the grip and fore-end areas, utilizing a rubber overmolding technology from Hogue, and is camouflaged with the latest multi-purpose pattern from Realtree and the official camo of the Elk Foundation – Realtree All-Purpose HD. Other features include clean 26-inch barrel; drilled and tapped for scope mounts; hinged floorplate; sling swivel studs and recoil-taming, R3® Recoil Pad. And new for 2007, the Model 700 XCR rifles feature the Remington X-MARK PRO™ trigger. With our tight production tolerances, this trigger breaks like glass, has zero creep and up to 40% lower out-of-the-box trigger pull weight.
