Cost Analyst - Ilion, NY
Remington Arms is the leading manufacturer and seller of Sporting Firearms, Ammunition and Accessories in the country. We currently have an opening for a Cost Analyst in our Ilion, NY location.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for all costing and inventory valuation decisions and changes including reviewing bills of materials, labor routers and application of burden rates including developing the annual labor and burden rates for standards development
• Develop and Maintain Standard cost for Ilion, Custom Shop and Arm Service via M:drive / normal yearly updating of Standards.
• Create and Maintain Labor & Overhead rates in SAP (Via Yearly Budget Process)
• Provide assistance to MIM plant in regards to the previous 2 items
• Run Monthly closing of all Production orders in SAP for the Ilion, CST, and MIM plants
• Analyze & Report Production order Variances
• Complete Monthly vouchers for Ammo MUV, PPV, Scrap re-class and other special circumstances
• Test all new upgrades to SAP in regards to Costing
• Provide Production, Engineering and Purchasing support in regards to all costing issues in SAP
• Coordinate and Reconcile Physical inventories of Raw Material And Semi-finished Goods at Ilion, Custom Shop, Arm Service and S&K on a yearly basis
• Provide assistance in the Physical Inventory of Finished Product at Ilion, Custom Shop and Arm Service as needed in SAP and DMS
• Assist in the reconciliation of the Finished Product DMS/SAP serial number inventory.
• Provide assistance to Cycle Counters in reconciliation process
• Maintain Excess and Obsolescence reserve for Stores, Raw Material and Semi-finished Goods
• Provide assistance to Outside Auditing in regards to Costing, Obsolescence and Physical inventory
• Supply Cost estimate comparisons for Make vs. Buy requests
• Provide assistance in any area of SAP within capabilities i.e. (Purchasing, Bill of materials, Routers)
• Assist in thorough testing of any new processes developed in SAP i.e. (S&K machining)
• Assist in the development of production Order Tracking to identify causes of unexplained order variances.
• Follow all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations.

• B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent from four-year college preferred; or minimum ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to calculate figures and to apply concepts of basic algebra. Must be proficient in Excel/Word software.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people and employees.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
