The primary purpose
of the Senior Tax Accountant is to research and document
conclusions on various issues to ensure the Companys
compliance with Federal and State income tax laws and
regulations.

Responsibilities |

Prepares partnership
tax returns.
Assists accounting with any member equity entries
required pursuant to the LLC Agreements.
Researches and documents conclusions on federal
income/partnership tax issues.
Researches and documents conclusions on state
income/franchise tax issues.
Researches and documents conclusions on the tax
accounting treatment of various issues relative to
FAS 109 and FIN 48.|
Researches and documents international tax issues.
Determines proper State apportionment factors
based on laws and regulations.
Assists in response to State notices regarding
income/franchise tax.
Responds to questions from other departments/plant
locations.
Communicates changes in State regulations to
appropriate individuals/departments.
Assists with State income/franchise tax audits.
Provides backup for Tax Accountants as necessary.
Prepares G408s and miscellaneous cash
remittances.
Reviews reconciliations of general ledger accounts
related to franchise tax and personal property tax.
Prepares journal entries as needed.|
Monitors areas of responsibility for
Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College
or university; or five to seven years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding
of FAS 109 and FIN 48. Demonstrated knowledge of
various federal and state income/franchise tax
software programs preferred.
Knowledge of RIA Checkpoint tax research
preferred.
Certified Public Accountant designation and
experience in public accounting preferred.
Proficiency in the partnership tax area is
required.
Experience with International taxes is a definite
plus.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence
and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from: groups of managers,
clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such
as: probability and statistical inference and
fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and
trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as: fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and to deal
with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual
should have knowledge of SAP Accounting software,
Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word
Processing software. |
