The
Marketing Research Analyst will be responsible for the
acquisition, organization, and analysis of industry,
customer and consumer data in order to provide quantitative
input and guidance to the businesses and assist in improving
the overall quality of the brand management and marketing
processes.

Responsibilities |

• Identifying and
obtaining access to existing sources of market data
concerning domestic sales, exports and imports of
relevant products.
• Organizing and analyzing governmental and industry
data in order to establish domestic and
international market share trends by category, on a
quarterly basis.
• Creation of a master database of all available
information in order to establish a historical
information source that can be used to verify trends
and provide context
• Assessing and reporting on global sales/shipment
data trends in order to identify competitive threats
and opportunities at least annually.
• Providing quarterly overview and analysis
concerning the financial filings of publicly traded
competitors or benchmarks, including sales and
profitability trends.
• Commissioning the creation of new or specialized
market research activities or surveys, as necessary,
in order to provide new data sources or to augment
existing data concerning trade or consumer
data/trends.
• Providing market trends and consumer demographics
input for strategic planning documents prepared by
brand management.
• Analyzing relevant competitive, consumer and trade
information in order to provide direction or
validate product or brand positioning concepts,
product designs or features, and target audiences
for new brands or products being contemplated by
brand management.
• Actively participate in the design of formats for
obtaining and analyzing data via consumer
interaction (ie warranty card programs et al), to
enhance our understanding of consumer demographics.
• Identifying and obtaining access to sources of
customer POS data in order to track sales velocity,
monitor inventories and provide insight into
consumer purchase habits for our products.
• Development and coordination of consumer focus
groups, as required, to provide feedback and
direction on any aspect of the Remington brand or
current/future products or features.
• Oversight of vendors/suppliers for contracted
services. |
| Skills and Education |
| |
• This position
requires a Bachelor's degree in Business and three
to five years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
.
• Must be able to prepare and deliver presentation
materials to senior level management.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and
presentation software in MS Office environment. SAP
experience preferred.
• System knowledge includes: MS Office, Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, SAP |
