of the Model 700 VTR took the shooting world by storm! Its
unique design attributes and tack-driving accuracy caught the attention
of the nation’s
best hunters and shooters. New for 2009, the Model 700 VTR centerfire,
bolt-action rifle will be offered in two new chamberings -
the blazing hot 17 Remington Fireball and the versatile 243
Win. The 17 Remington Fireball eclipses many popular varmint cartridges
with its blistering 4,000 fps muzzle velocity and has quickly
gained the overwhelming approval of small-caliber centerfire
fans. Also
new for 2009, Remington is excited to introduce the Model 700
VTR Desert Recon featuring the popular Tiger Stripe Products® Digital
Tiger™ TSP Desert camo pattern - available in 223 Remington and 308
Win. The Model 700 VTR is a culmination
of our time-tested rifle design, fused with truly innovative
new features available only from Remington. For starters, the
Model 700 VTR is fitted with a unique patent-pending, triangular contoured
target-grade barrel. This
is a result of rigorous research and development that is
focused on reducing weight, enhancing rigidity and promoting
rapid heat dissipation. To
decrease recoil and muzzle jump, this uniquely contoured
22-inch barrel has an integral muzzle brake that is machined-in
during production. For
optimal accuracy, the distinctive barreled action is
then fitted with the new Remington X-Mark Pro™ Adjustable trigger. The
advanced design allows for consistent 3 ½ pound trigger pulls
set directly from the factory. Should you feel the need;
the trigger can be externally adjusted within a range
of 2 pounds (3 to 5 pounds) with the included tool. To
complete the package, the Model 700 VTR barreled action
is mated to a newly designed, synthetic stock with vented beaver-tail
fore end and black overmold grip areas. This unique stock
design is another exclusive feature available only on the Model
700 VTR.
