New for 2009, building upon the success of our 12 gauge versions, Remington is excited to announce the Model 870 Express ShurShot FR-CL (Fully Rifled Cantilever Barrel) in 20 Gauge.

This Model 870 Express slug gun with ShurShot stock puts exceptional accuracy and swift-handling characteristics in the hands of left and right-handed deer hunters. The fully rifled cantilever barrel has long been popular with deer hunters because of its tremendous accuracy potential with the newest generation of sabot slug ammunition, like our new Premier® AccuTip polymer-tipped slug. Mounting an optic is a cinch on the rock-solid Weaver-style base that is integral with the barrel. The heavy diameter (.800”) 18 1/2-inch barrel handles both 2 3/4 and 3-inch loads with a twist rate of 1 in 24 inches for optimum accuracy with 20 gauge slugs.  The barrel and receiver are finished in a black-oxide coating that provides a durable non-reflective, matte finish and both synthetic fore-end and ShurShot stock have complementing matte black finish.

Remington’s new ShurShot stock is loaded with design features that allow hunters to maximize the performance of their shotguns by providing rock-solid precision aiming with dramatically reduced felt recoil.  The ShurShot stock combines lightweight synthetic construction with a Remington exclusive, ambidextrous thumbhole-style pistol grip with raised comb, perfect for use with optics or fixed sights. All ShurShot stocks are supplied with molded-in swivel studs.
