New for 2009, Remington is excited to announce the Model R-15 VTR Byron South Edition predator rifle, available in 223 Remington.

The Byron South Edition R-15 is chambered in 223 Remington; easily the most versatile and popular predator hunting round available. For peak accuracy, this R-15 is equipped with a fast-handling, fluted 18-inch Chrome-Moly steel barrel. The barrel is free-floated within a Yankee Hill® Customizable free-floating tube that features 3-inch rails mounted at the 2 and 10-o’clock positions for lighted accessories and has a recessed hunting crown to ensure gasses escape evenly around the bullet for the ultimate in accuracy. Six longitudinal flutes forward of the gas block promote rapid barrel cooling and increase rigidity while reducing weight, further contributing to this rifle’s ability to print impressive groups downrange.

Our design team didn’t stop with just a great barrel. For the ultimate in trigger control and repeatable accuracy, we added a coyote brown, ambidextrous ERGO Grip® and a precision two-stage competition trigger.  And when it’s time to add optics, the receiver-length Picatinny rail provides a rock-solid mounting platform.

To complete this impressive package, the fore-end tube is drilled and tapped for accessory rails and the stock, fore-end and upper and lower receivers are decked in the ultra-effective Advantage MAX-1 HD® camouflage to blend with sage, open country and a multitude of hunting terrains. The Byron South Edition R-15 is supplied with a five-round magazine and is compatible with all aftermarket AR-15 magazines and other accessories.
