Madison, NC – Remington® announces the ninth
consecutive offering of its limited edition Model 700 bolt-action rifle
in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF). For
2009, this commemorative rifle is chambered in the versatile 30-06 Sprg
and based on the technologically-advanced XCR™ (Xtreme Conditions
Rifle) Model 700 platform.
This annual Model 700 limited edition
rifle has the distinctive RMEF logo laser-engraved on the floorplate
and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this rifle is given to
RMEF to support the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat.
Over the past eight years, Remington has donated over $150,000 from the
proceeds of this rifle series to the Elk Foundation.
The Model
700 XCR platform is our most resilient rifle with its armor-like, multilayer
TriNyte™ Corrosion Control System. This exclusive, patented process
starts with a solid stainless steel barreled action that is plated
with electroless nickel and a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating.
This durable, micro-thin barrier provides superior abrasion resistance
and virtual elimination of corrosion. Next the barreled action is fit
into a weather-defying, synthetic stock with solid-grip, gray overmold
on the fore-end and pistol-grip and is camouflaged with the official
pattern of the Elk Foundation, Realtree® AP HD® which provides
maximum concealment regardless of the terrain.
This high performance
bolt-action has our new X-Mark Pro™ Adjustable trigger. The
advanced design allows for consistent 3 ½ pound trigger pulls
set directly from the factory. Should you feel the need; the trigger
can be externally adjusted within a range of 2 pounds (3 to 5 pounds)
with the included tool. Other features include a 24-inch hammer-forged,
clean barrel; receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts; hinged
floorplate engraved with RMEF logo and four round magazine capacity;
sling swivel studs; and Remington SuperCell™ Recoil Pad which
significantly reduces felt recoil.
