A Bad Angle

I went hunting with my dad a few weeks ago and maybe a hour of sitting in the stand, a nice six pointer came out.I was using my grandads 40 year old model 700 6mm.I shot at a bad angle and the bullet went through his lungs and his stomach.he took 3 steps and was down.Now I am planning on getting my own model 798 in 30-06 :)
